Allison Walker grew up in Northern California, received a Bachelor’s in Art from Southern Virginia University, and earned a Master’s in Theology and the Arts from the University of St Andrews in Scotland in 2014. She won the 2013 International Deseret Gospel Vision of the Arts Award for a series of black and white prints based on Isaiah and modern life, and in 2014 showed in the University of St Andrews’ “Art of Theologians” exhibit with a series of etchings addressing the Meridian of Time. After a stint at the Smithsonian, she came to work for the Martha’s Vineyard Museum and got back into printmaking with the 1500 pound iron press that took an island to get into her basement. Her latest series, “The Great Divide”, displayed at the Martha’s Vineyard Chilmark Public Library in Winter 2018. She currently resides in New York City.
