'Cana' Feast Plate
15 inch diameter
I love feasting and hosting, and find it all deeply spiritual - especially in light of the absence of it I’ve felt in the last two years. I wanted to make a piece of art that could become a part of someone’s feast tradition.
I spent much time researching significant feasts in history, and kept coming back to Jesus turning water into wine at the Wedding of Cana. It is the first recorded miracle of Jesus - his ministry began at a feast. The blue and red symbolize water turning into wine, with gold between and around them signifying the transformation and miracle.
This large platter could be a meaningful gift for the host in your life, a unique wedding gift for a couple you love, or a piece of usable art for your own serving collection.
(And the bright red bottom was inspired by Christian Louboutin, of course.)
Happy feasting!
