The Great Divide
Monotype & Oil Pastel on BFK Rives paper
10 x 10 inches
I used to think of “Divide” as a verb, sharply tearing things in half, until I thought of Moses’ divide in the Red Sea, a place of life and miracles. To pick a side would mean death. This piece is an image of the walls of the Red Sea and dry, golden sand in the middle, the way, the valley in the shadow of death.
