"The Great Divide (Lungs to Breathe)"
$225.00
Monotype print (linseed oil ink), graphite, oil pastel on BFK Rives lightweight paper
8 x 8 inches
I used to think of the word “divide” only as a sharp verb, tearing things in half. Then I remembered that in the story of Moses parting the Red Sea, the “divide” was a space- safe, golden, dry, sandy, miraculous. This image is of the red sea parting, and resembles two lungs as well. Space to breathe.
