The Shroud of Turin is a relic in Turin, Italy. It is traditionally believed to be the exact burial shroud placed over the face of Christ and that his divinity burned his image into the cloth, as the cloth has the light imprint of a face in it. Multiple DNA tests have been performed to settle its authenticity, but much to their surprise they found DNA from every nation on Earth on it. This leaves the question of its authenticity technically unanswered, allowing us a little more mystery in our modernity. Or, how I like to think about it, you try to find the face of God and you just find everyone. Maybe that is God’s DNA.

Gold and blue represent the divine and mortal. This piece is my own take on a divine Shroud, presenting different textures and asking about the many, many different faces of God.
