"The Giant Clock in the Sky"
Acrylic, graphite, and oil pastel
15 x 20 inches
Something a little different! When I was a college freshman we were illegally stargazing on the football field and one of the group said “imagine if there was a giant clock floating above us in the sky at all times.” This haunting/intense image has hung with me ever since.
Last year we went to Yellowstone with family and were stuck driving without WiFi for hours, and one of the only albums we had downloaded was Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon”. It was my first time listening to it and ‘The Great Gig in the Sky’ brought up this image again. I came home and made this piece listening to that song.
